New Residential Plans Development Plans Approved for Bowesfield

Wednesday 28 July 2010

Around 150 new family homes are set to be built as part of a unique mixed-use scheme in Stockton after the company behind the project secured planning permission for a 15-acre residential development on the site.

North east property firm Banks Developments’ Bowesfield Park site has proved extremely popular with a range of residential and business occupants as they have moved onto the site over the last three years.

Companies including Barratt Homes and McInerney Homes have successfully built and sold properties on the Bowesfield site, and enquiries have already started to come in from housebuilders looking to acquire some of the new land.

The first new homes could be ready for occupation before the end of 2011.

Bowesfield Park is an exciting mixed use development on the banks of the river Tees in Stockton. Work is ongoing on the site which borrows a wildlife and habitat theme from a newly created 15 hectare wildlife conservation area. To date, the built development consists of high quality offices, car showrooms and 230 homes.

Current commercial occupiers include BHP Law, Archers Law, Browell Smith and Company, Handelsbanken, Audi, Lexus, Toyota, and Alliance & Leicester.

Michael Shuttleworth, managing director of Banks Property, says: “Bowesfield Park has proved an extremely attractive location for both its residential and commercial occupants, who all enjoy the unique combination of benefits and facilities that the site layout provides.

“We’re extremely pleased the latest phase of the project has been approved, and with the ongoing recovery of the property market, we expect demand for this new residential area to be extremely high.”
